Trend alert: Midi Skirt

The mid-length or ‘midi-skirt’ is back, I see so many celebrities and runway models wearing them. They remind me of my mother since she used to wear them when I was young.

This just proves how timeless these skirts are! I know many people aren't big fans of this look but you can always try and get out of your comfort zone!

I created two different looks because one just wasn't enough! I wanted to show you’ll how this skirt looks on different body styles so I asked my best-friend to help me. Since the length of the skirt is a little conservative a crop top looks great. A black crop top can be paired with so many pieces.
I wore a printed midi. to add a little something to the plain black crop top. I added a black statement necklace and a gold rings. Also I carried a beige sling bag and wore a pair of vertiginous nude heels!

And for the other look  I paired a black and metallic silver midi skirt which has lace detailing with again a crop top. I simply choose silver accessories as I wanted the skirt to be the statement piece of the outfit. Also I carried a silver clutch and silver ballet flats.

Day to night- The Peplum top.

Hey everyone!
I got a comment on my first post about how to style a peplum top.
Since I was feeling a little extra creative I decided to DIY a peplum top. I can’t find my old peplum which I had purchased from Primark so I too wanted a new peplum desperately! :(

Peplums can totally be dressed up and dressed down. So I did a day to night kind of look. For a more casual and day time appropriate look I paired them with the timeless skinny jeans (dark wash).

I added a long sweater-type overcoat because I was a little unwell and also it was raining. And carried a turquoise backpack with black leather detailing. I wore a silver watch and silver studs. Ain't nobody got time for accessories in the morning! For the footwear I wore black velvet flats. And I actually wore this outfit to college!

For the night look I decided to wear it the classic way- peplum with a pencil skirt. I wore a pair of pointed toed heels. I went for the B&G (black and gold) look but still not over accessories.

So I had an arm candy on one of my hands and a mid-finger ring. I also added a necklace to add a little more to the outfit.
